Thane, Monthly Mahotsav, a week-long festival that aims to demystify the era through sports, art and cultural events, will be celebrated across 11 countries from May 21.

33 organizations will be involved in celebrating the 8th edition of the festival through programs across 15 states of the country.

Thane-based NG Muse Foundation said in a release that the festival aims to challenge menstrual taboos, end menstrual poverty and promote meaningful conversations about menstruation across the world.

Listing the highlights of this year, Muse Foundation founder Nishant Bangera said the festival will be celebrated for the first time in Puducherry, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab and for the second time in Pakistan.
