Srinagar: PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday claimed that outgoing calls on her mobile number have been suspended without any explanation.

"I have not been able to make any calls since morning. There is no explanation for the sudden suspension of services on the day of polling in Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency," Mehbooba said.

The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir is contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha constituency, where voting is currently going on.

PDP also raised the issue in a post on X.

It said, "Just ahead of the elections, Ms Mehbooba Mufti's @MehboobaMufti cellular phone service has been suddenly stopped. Yesterday evening and early today, several PDP workers and polling agents were detained in the Polin belt."

On Friday, Mehbooba had written a letter to the Election Commission claiming that PD workers and polling agents have been detained by the police.

“Many of our PDP polling agents and workers are being detained just before voting, when families go to police stations they are being told that this is being done on the orders of SSP Anantnag and DIG South Kashmir. We @ Have written to ECISVEEP expecting their timely intervention,” the PDP chief had said in the post on X.
