Mathura: A Mathura-based veterinary university has been recognized as the best performing institute in the country for research in veterinary sciences, its vice-chancellor said on Monday.

EduRank, a renowned independent organization that analyzes research in colleges and universities, has ranked UP Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay University of Veterinary Sciences and Cow Research Institute (DUVASU) as the best in India in the "Animal Sciences" category.

DUVASU Vice-Chancellor Professor AK Srivastava said, EDURank independently evaluates the research work of 14,131 universities and research institutes covering 183 countries.

“DUVASU has been ranked 1st in India, 16th in Asia and 143rd in the world. The credit for this prestigious position goes to the teachers, officers, staff and students of the university."

He said, EDURank evaluates research work and also assesses the publication of research papers.

Mathura MP Hema Malini congratulated Srivastava for the university's achievement.

“Brijvasi and I personally feel very pleased with the way the university has excelled and achieved the first position in India. I am hopeful that under your leadership the University will achieve glorious heights in the future also.”
