New Delhi, Chandan Roy Sanyal, known for films like "Kaminey" and "Ja Harry Met Sejal", says his approach towards acting has changed over the years and he now understands that mastering it is a tough task. is a "lifelong process".

44-year-old Sanyal is currently starring in the hit series "Looter" and the film "Patna Shukla". H is happy that the audience got to see two sides of him as an actor.

"It (acting) definitely changes over time. If I read the scene that I did 20 years ago, I'll do it differently now and 20 years from now, I'll be a far better actor or something. And I will.Abhinay Sanyal said in an interview, It is a lifelong process and craft that takes you years to hone until it becomes natural.

The actor said that he always aims to achieve a smooth flow in his performances, be it for a film or a show.

"When someone watches a performance and says, 'It didn't feel like it was acting, that thing was flowing.' It comes from years and years of rehearsals and daily practice,” he said.

Sanyal started his acting career in 2006 with the film 'Rang De Basanti'.Over the years he has worked in projects like "Kaminey", "Aparajita Tumi", "Midnight's Children", "D-Day", "Jab Harry Met Sejal", "Aashram", "Sheher Lakhot" and "Charlie Chopra".

The Delhi-born artiste said he was introduced to acting at an early age through his mother, who was an avid fan of watching films of master directors like Satyajit Ray and Ritwik Ghatak.

"When I was growing up, my mother would take me to watch Bengali films from the black and white era. I grew up on that."

While studying at Zakir Hussain Delhi College, he got involved with theater and realized that it was something he wanted to pursue.“I thought theater was like a religion where everyone comes together to tell a story and everyone is treated equally and works towards one goal. My whole outlook on life changed.

"I was looking for some answers in my life and being on stage answered all these questions and that's when I decided that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. It gave me immense happiness and satisfaction." . I still get that joy from acting every day," he said.Sanyal has a set of rules to determine whether he will do a project or not.

He said, "The first thing is who is directing, the director's vision and the story. With my part, I look at what is there in the story. If my part is removed from the film, will it exist or No." Said."If I feel the story can be told without my part, I generally don't do it. But if I feel it is integral to the film, then (I go for it). That's the main criteria. Is."

Sanyal will next be seen in Applause Entertainment's series "36 Days".

He said, "I have directed a feature film called 'The Playback Singer', which will release this year.I have directed another film called 'Suzie Q', which premiered at the Kolkata International Film Festival."
