New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has appointed Manuj Singhal of the Indian Engineering Service (IES) as the new director (infrastructure), officials said on Wednesday.

He said Singhal, a 1994 batch IES officer, has nearly three decades of multidisciplinary experience in several key positions.

Chief Executive Director Corporate Communications Anuj Dayal said, as Director (Infrastructure) he will be in-charge of maintenance of infrastructure including civil, electrical, signal, AFC, telecom, rolling stock, solar energy etc. in DMRC. , DMRC.

An electrical engineering graduate and post-graduation from Delhi College of Engineering, Singhal started his career with National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) and then joined the Department of Telecommunications through IES. Dayal said, he has been working with DMRC since 2006 and before assuming this role, he was working as Executive Director (Rolling Stock/Project).

He has published several technical papers in national and international journals/conferences, and has been involved in redefining the energy mix of DMRC, execution of electrical works for Kochi Metro project (with DC traction system) and finalizing procurement of lifts and escalators.
