New Delhi: Mankind Pharma on Tuesday said its board will meet later this week to consider a proposal to raise funds through the issue of securities.

The company's board will meet on September 24 to consider and approve raising funds through non-convertible debentures, commercial paper, other debt securities or any other security or any combination thereof, the company said in a regulatory filing.

However, the company did not mention the amount it intends to raise through the securities issue.

Mankind Pharma is engaged in developing, manufacturing and marketing a variety of pharmaceutical formulations and consumer health care products.

The company had said in an investor presentation that it intends to grow the consumer healthcare business through line extensions, new launches and premiumization by leveraging existing brand equity, additional distribution models.

According to the presentation, MannKind is also looking to increase the share of the chronic segment by enhancing the value of prescriptions in the existing market and increasing presence in existing treatments.
