New Delhi: Delhi Police, which is investigating the graffiti incident targeting Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, on Tuesday said that a person has been captured on CCTV camera writing the message.

Police on Monday registered an FIR and started investigation after the name of AAP national convenor was found written inside the metro train and at stations.

"A youth has been caught in the CCTV footage writing on signboards and coaches. It is suspected that he is the same person who had shared the graffiti photos on his Instagram account," an official said.

He said police collected footage from Patel Nagar, Ramesh Nagar and Rajiv Chowk metro stations on Tuesday.

The police officer said photographs of some of the messages written inside metro trains and at stations were shared through the Instagram account "ankit.goel_91".

A graffiti inside the metro train read, "Kejriwal leave Delhi. Please. Otherwise, you will have to remember the three slaps you gave before the elections. Now the real and actual punch/slap will happen soon in Jhandewalan... Ankit.Goyal_91"

The officer said a man named Ankit Goyal, whose Instagram account was used to share photos of the graffiti, is being searched.

The officer said it is suspected that Goyal wrote graffiti and posted its pictures on his account to gain fame, but the real reason will be known only after interrogating him.

The Aam Aadmi Party on Monday sought time from the Election Commission for a meeting on the issue and accused the BJP of being behind the corruption.
