New Delhi: The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested a 38-year-old man for his alleged involvement in hacking the Rajasthan Police website to cheat people. Officials gave this information on Friday.

He said that Saurabh Sahu, a native of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, was arrested from Mahipalpur in South Delhi on Thursday.

It was reported that Rajasthan Police had announced a reward of Rs 50,000 on his arrest.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Amit Goyal said Sahu had allegedly committed fraud by sending e-mails to a person named Sohaib Sharif Khan after hacking them.Rajasthan Police website.

Khan had told the police that the bank had frozen his account after receiving the email. Later, he was asked to pay money to defreeze his bank account.

A case was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act at the Crime Branch of Rajasthan Police on March 6.

They arrested a group of youth allegedly in connection with hacking and fraud but the alleged mastermind Sahu was absconding.

Sahu, who did not study beyond Class 10, also had a pet care business.From 2013 to 2015, Goyal said, he worked at a private company in Pitampura, Delhi, where he took computer training.

Subsequently, some acquaintances of the company expressed interest in obtaining the CDR (call data records), thereby indulging in illegal activity, he said.

Later, he developed a nexus with some spy agencies, which allegedly helped him obtain CDRs and other personal information by hacking websites and freezing bank accounts, for which he extorted Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 from customers. Price recovered up to Rs.

Goyal further said that Sahu was earlier arrested in Mumbai, Thane, Delhi and Hyderabad for these illegal activities and access to CDRs of high profile people including actors and politicians.
