Baripada, a court in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district on Saturday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for the murder of his three-year-old son.
Additional Sessions Judge Satyanarayan Patra also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the convict Chepa Dehuri (40).
Additional public prosecutor Krishna Chandra Das said the verdict was pronounced after examining the statements of 12 witnesses and medical reports.
In anger, Dehuri killed his son by hitting him on his head with a stone. The incident occurred on 23 October 2020 in Beldunguri village of Badasahi police station area.
After the murder, Dehuri tried to dispose of the body but the villagers caught him and handed him over to the police.
