New Delhi: A 32-year-old man, who had gone fishing with his acquaintances, drowned in a wetland in southwest Delhi, police said on Monday.
He told that the body of Mukesh Ram was found floating in the wetland of Najafgarh area.
Police said the incident took place on September 12, when Mukesh, who had gone fishing with Tusleshwar, Monu and a child, slipped and fell into deep water.
A senior police officer said the three people accompanying him ran away out of fear and failed to inform anyone about the incident.
According to the officer, Mukesh's brother Dinesh Ram had filed a missing complaint on September 14 saying that his brother had gone fishing two days earlier.
Later, the victim's body was recovered from the wetland, the officer said, adding further investigation is underway.
