The incident came to light around 1:40 pm. local time on Monday when emergency services were called to a house on the Great Western Highway in Kingswood, a suburb 50 km west of Sydney's central business district, Xinhua news agency reported.

Officers found a 21-year-old woman with two stab wounds to the chest. Paramedics treated the victim at the scene before she was later pronounced dead.

The New South Wales Police Force said that five hours after the incident, a 21-year-old male was arrested without incident on Derby Street, Penrith.

Police also noted that since the man and woman involved were in a domestic relationship, the perpetrator was charged with murder related to domestic violence.

According to police, the 21-year-old was denied bail and will be produced before a local court on Tuesday.

Apart from this, another serious incident of stabbing took place in the north-western area of ​​the city in Sydney on Monday.

Police attended a home on Boundary Street in Roseville around 7:00 pm. local time.

Upon arrival, officers were told an older man and woman were confronted by a 23-year-old man who was waiting at the property.

The young man stabbed the older man in the back and fled the scene before the offender was arrested and charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Meanwhile, the injured 34-year-old man admitted himself to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police confirmed that he was in hospital in stable condition.
