Palghar, Maharashtra: Police have arrested a 46-year-old man for killing his wife with an ax following a quarrel in Palghar district. An official gave this information on Thursday.
He said that the incident took place on Wednesday in Durvesh village of Manor area.
The man had doubts about the character of his 44-year-old wife, which led to frequent fights between them, a police control room official said.
On Wednesday, there was another fight between them over this issue after which the mother allegedly attacked her wife several times with an axe. He said that the woman died on the spot.
After receiving the information, Manor police reached the spot and sent the body to the government hospital for postmortem.
The officer said the man was arrested and a case was registered under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code.
