The accused was identified as Arjun alias Umar, resident of Andheria Mod in Mehrauli area.

During the investigation, the police team assigned to solve the case initially collected some important clues from the incident site through analysis of CCTV footage and in the footage a suspect was seen roaming in the area under suspicious circumstances.

Eventually, Arjun is captured from his hut in Andheri Mor and the little girl is also rescued.During interrogation, the accused revealed that he makes small glass toys and had come to Kotla to collect some material. There he saw the girl playing and took her to his slum at Andheria Mor.
“During investigation, the victim revealed that the accused sold her pie and brought new clothes and some food items for himself. She also told that the accused had changed her clothes and had also sexually assaulted her once. Later, as per the government order, the medical examination of the victim girl was conducted at AIIMS.The MLC confirmed sexual assault and light scratches on the upper body,” the DCP said.
