Kochi, Veteran Malayalam actor Siddique was on Sunday elected the general secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA).

A.M.M.A. The 30th General Assembly of was held here. A 17-member Executive Committee, including new office bearers, was elected for 2024-2027.

Actors Mohanlal and Unni Mukundan were earlier unanimously elected president and treasurer respectively.

The actors also elected Jagadish and R Jayan as vice-presidents and Baburaj as joint secretaries.

Kalabhavan Shajon, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Joy Mathew, Suresh Krishna, Tiny Tom, Ananya, Vinu Mohan, Tovino Thomas, Saryu Mohan and Ansiba were elected as executive committee members.

According to the rules of the organization, there should be at least four women in the 17-member body.

Since Kuku Parameswaran and Manju Pillai lost the election, AMMA office-bearers on Sunday said that one post of executive member is lying vacant and it will be filled after the next executive meeting.
