Fadnavis was speaking at a press conference organized after the opposition boycotted the usual team meeting called by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

"Today the opposition boycotted the tea party. Their policy is to lie and repeat it. I think the opposition has adopted the mentality of lying to get votes in the elections. They should look in the mirror before filing charges against the state government," Fadnavis said.

He also responded to the opposition's allegation that the government is doing nothing to complete the long-pending irrigation projects in the Vidarbha region.

"For two and a half years, the Maha Vikas Aghadi government did not expedite any projects in Vidarbha. The government did not give its nod to the revised administrative approvals for the pending irrigation projects and now we are told that the irrigation projects in the region of Vidarbha have not taken off," he said.

"During the two years of MahaYuti government, 87 projects were completed. In 2019, the government published a resolution on the Wainganga-Nalgaga project, but the MVA government sat on the docket and nothing was done. After MahaYuti came to power, things progressed quickly. Now those people are asking us questions," he added.

Fadnavis also criticized the opposition for attacking the MahaYuti government over the paper leak issue, saying that the highest number of paper leak cases in various exams was recorded during the tenure of the Uddhav Thackeray-led government.

"The state government will present a report card on paper leaks during the MVA rule during the monsoon session," Fadnavis said.

Fadnavis also denied the opposition's allegation that the MahaYuti government did nothing to restore the Statutory Development Boards.

"During the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, the tenure of the Statutory Development Boards expired and the government did not take any initiative to revive them. After the arrival of the new government, it sent a proposal to the Center for their revival. In the case of water of Marathwada "The MVA government suspended its implementation, but the MahaYuti government revived the project," he said.

On the opposition's allegation that investors are deserting the state, Fadnavis claimed that during the MahaYuti government, Maharashtra once again became number one in attracting investments.

"During MVA's tenure, Maharashtra fell from the number one spot as Gujarat and other states overtook us in attracting investments," he said.

Fadnavis also said that the International Financial Center had gone to Gujarat during the Congress-led government in 2012, and not during MahaYuti's tenure.

The deputy CM asked the opposition not to file corruption charges against the MahaYuti regime, recalling that a former Home Minister was jailed during the MVA rule on corruption charges.

On the opposition's accusation of a '40 per cent commission' government, he recalled that during the MVA government, several scams were reported, such as the body bag scam, the Covid scam and the Khichadi scam.
