Latur, Several teacher candidates selected for appointment at Rayat Shikshan Sansthan after clearing the Teachers Aptitude and Intelligence Test (TAIT) on Wednesday met Maharashtra School Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar, demanding jobs.

The candidates said that those who along with them have cleared TAIT conducted by the state government but have opted for Zilla Parishad (ZP) schools have already started working and are receiving salaries.

Around 650 TAIT-qualified candidates had chosen schools under Rayat Shikshan Sansthan but could not get appointment letters after temporary staff in those schools moved court demanding permanent jobs.

Rayat Shikshan Sanstha is an education society that runs government-aided schools across the state.

“We have passed TAIT which was conducted by the government. We narrated our ordeal to Minister Kesarkar and he promised to look into the matter,” said Basavaraj Tawde, a TAIT-qualified candidate.

Another teacher candidate Sandeep Mali said that four months have passed since his selection but he has not received a call from Rayat Shikshan Sansthan. “Our friends who passed with us have already joined Zilla Parishad schools and are also getting paid,” he said.

The case will be heard by the Bombay High Court on July 19, Tawde said.
