Fadnavis, who holds the Home portfolio, told the House that the first FIR under the new criminal law provisions was lodged at Sawantwadi police station at 2.19 am.

He also said that after the appointment of Sujata Saunik on this post, for the first time a woman has become the Chief Secretary in Maharashtra.

He said, “Rashmi Shukla is the first woman DGP (Director General of Police) of the state.

Saunik, a 1987 batch IAS officer, took over as the Chief Secretary of Maharashtra on Sunday, becoming the first woman to hold the top post in the state's 64-year-old history.
