Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Prasad Lad, member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleged that Ambadas Danve, leader of the opposition (LoP) of the Uddhav Thackeray faction of the Shiv Sena used abusive language against Danve and demanded that the vice president should take strict action against him.

Prasad Lad insisted on passing a resolution in the Maharashtra Legislative Council against Rahul Gandhi for making a statement about Hindus in Parliament. Both Danve, LoP objected and said that it is not his issue and the same is being discussed in Parliament. "We should focus on our discussions," Danve reasoned.

Prasad Lad along with the MLCs of the ruling Mahayuti coalition opposed it and started questioning Ambadas Danve. "Are you not a Hindu?" The Mahayuti MLCs asked Danve, continuously pointing fingers at him and demanding an answer.

There was a great uproar in the Legislative Council and a heated argument ensued between Ambadas Danve and Prasad Lad.

Prasad Lad accused Ambadas Danve of using abusive language against him and demanded that the vice president take strict action against him.

Following the uproar, the Legislative Council was adjourned until Tuesday.

Rahul Gandhi said in the lower house today that the BJP is not the entire Hindu society.

"Narendra Modi is not the entire Hindu society. BJP is not the entire Hindu society, RSS is not the entire Hindu society, this is not BJP's contract," he said.

"Abhayamudra is the symbol of Congress... Abhayamudra is the gesture of bravery, it is the gesture of tranquility and security, which dispels fear and grants divine protection and bliss in Hinduism, Islam, Sikhism, Buddhism and others Indian religions... "All our great men have spoken of non-violence and ending fear... But those who call themselves Hindus only speak of violence, hatred, lies... Aap Hindu ho hi nahi," he added the leader of Congress.
