The film starring Annu Kapoor and Parth Samthaan was scheduled to release on Friday, but according to its makers, the Bombay High Court has put a stay on its release after a petition was filed against it.

Former Aurangabad MP Jaleel strongly targeted the film in a video statement on Thursday night.

He alleged, "A particular community is being targeted in the film 'Hum Do Hamare Barah'. This film has been made not for entertainment but to earn money by creating controversy."

The AIMIM leader further said, the government should ensure that no community is made fun of in any film and such films are not good for the society.

A senior police officer here said the police will provide security to the theaters where the film will be screened, but its release has been postponed.

However, Jalil criticized the police stance, asking if providing security to theaters was their only job.

The Karnataka government has banned the screening of the film for at least two weeks after some Muslim organizations raised concerns.

The makers had announced last month that the title has been changed from "Hum Do Hamare Barah" to "Humaare Barah" as per the direction of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
