Lucknow: A van carrying nine women prisoners and 14 women policemen from Lucknow District Jail to the court caught fire outside Raj Bhavan on Tuesday. The officers provided this information.
He said that all the passengers were rescued safely while the police van was completely burnt.
This incident happened in front of Gate No. 14 of Raj Bhavan, due to which panic spread among the passersby.
Hazratganj Fire Station Officer Ram Kumar Rawat said that after receiving the information, two fire engines were sent to the spot and the fire was brought under control within 15 minutes.
Rawat said the driver saw sparks around the battery in the bus after which the vehicle was stopped and the prisoners and security personnel were taken out.
