"We plant 35 crore saplings in the state every year. The target for Lucknow is 39 lakh saplings. The forest department will plant 15 lakh and 24 lakh will come from the other different departments. Four main gardens are being constructed. Virasat Vriksh Vatika, Vanar Van for monkeys, Pavitra Dhara Vatika and Shakti Vatika will be performed by women. Trees of various fruits and vegetables would be planted in Vanar Van for consumption by monkeys," district forest officer (DFO) told ANI. Lucknow Sitashu Pandey.
He further said that from July 1 onwards, saplings will be distributed free of charge.
"This time, we will plant five different types of plants. First, environment-related saplings that will help produce oxygen will be planted. Then, plant protein-based saplings, such as sesame, will be planted. Then, herbal plants such as neem and fruits. Young trees that produce flowers will finally be planted," he added.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday spoke about the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign launched on World Environment Day, appealing to citizens and people across the world to join the tree plantation initiative with their mothers to celebrate both motherhood and the environment.
While addressing the nation in his 111th episode of the show 'Mann Ki Baat' on Sunday, Prime Minister Modi said that with the idea of doing something for our Mother, 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign was launched across the country ' on the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5 which is progressing rapidly.
"If I ask you what is the most precious relationship in the world, you will definitely say: 'Mother'. In all our lives, the status of 'mother' is the highest. A mother takes care of her child despite facing every pain. Every The mother shows affection for her son.
