Union Minister Khuba filed his nomination from Bidar Lok Sabha seat to contest re-election for the third consecutive time.

During a procession to file his nomination, Union Minister Khuba had to rush to the district commissioner's office as the deadline was 3 pm.

As the Union Minister started hurrying to the Khuba District Commissioner's office, BJ MLAs Sharanu Salagar, Avinash Jadhav and Siddu Patil also had to run behind him to reach the office within the stipulated time.

Union Minister Khuba is pitted against Congress candidate Sagar Khandre, son of Forest Minister Ishwar Khandre.

Priyanka Jarkiholi, daughter of Karnataka Public Works Department Minister Satish Jarkiholi, filed her nomination for Chikkodi Lok Sabha seat.Priyanka said, "I am happy to be the first granddaughter in the family to contest elections. I am confident that people will vote for me. I also have the blessings of all the senior leaders."

Karnataka minister Satish Jarkiholi expressed confidence but refrained from predicting his daughter's victory margin.

Priyanka is contesting against BJP's Annasaheb Jolle from Chikkodi Lok Sabha seat.Prominent Lingayat saint Dangaleshwar Swamiji filed his nomination as an independent candidate from Dharwad Lok Sabha seat, where he is facing off against BJP candidate and Union minister Pralhad Joshi and Congress candidate Vinoo Asuti.

Dingleshwar Swamiji reached the District Commissioner's office without any supporters and procession.

He said, "I have submitted my nomination. I am upset with people criticizing me. This is a fight to preserve the heritage of Karnataka.,

He said, "This is a fight of religion. People who have been elected four times have removed the pictures of Basavanna, Ambedkar and Maharishi Valmiki from their offices. It is the aim of the people to remove them from power."
