The tree plantation program was part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiative for a nationwide tree plantation drive under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign.
Madhya Pradesh government has taken this initiative across the state involving different sections of people including film stars, artists, security forces etc.
Minister Vijayvargiya, who came from Indore, said that about 50 lakh saplings will be planted in the city. He was seen visiting various places in Indore city and appealing to people to participate in the tree plantation campaign.
On Monday, Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty reached Indore and participated in the tree plantation campaign run by Indore Municipal Corporation. He also planted a sapling.
