Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) In view of the rising temperatures in Uttar Pradesh, polling personnel will be provided with medical kits to deal with health conditions like heatstroke for the second phase of 2024 Lok Sabha elections to be held on April 26. Instructions have also been issued to ensure all necessary facilities for polling personnel and voters at polling stations. The polling teams will leave for the polling stations to ensure fair and peaceful elections in the state. The eight seats of UP where voting is to be held in the second phase include Amroha, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh and Mathura. These 8 Lok Sabha seats fall under 9 districts of the state, namely, Amroha, Hapur, Meerut, Baghpat Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh and Mathura. State Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa said that instructions have been given to all the districts 26 Election officials will send polling teams on time for the second phase of voting to be held in 8 Lok Sabha constituencies on April 1.He said instructions have been issued to all concerned district election officers to ensure necessary facilities for voters and polling personnel at polling stations. Before the departure of polling parties to polling stations, polling personnel will be provided with medical kits to deal with health conditions like heatstroke. Because o heat, tents, sheds, drinking water system and other necessary facilities will be established as per the guidelines issued earlier, in compliance with the instructions of the Election Commission of India, a continuous campaign is being run in the entire Uttar Pradesh by the Police Income Tax, Excise , Narcotics and other departments. 480 inter-state check posts and 1836 check posts within the state are operational for intensive inspection. From March 16 to April 23, 2024, the police department seized 495 licensed weapons from criminals, while 4553 weapons licenses were cancelled.Notices have been issued to 2,532,068 persons under CrPC for fear of disturbing peace, of which 2,061,166 have already been banned. Additionally, the police department has seized 7650 unlicensed arms, 775 cartridges, 2900.32 kg explosives and 411 bombs. Apart from this, 3153 illegal arms manufacturing centers were raided, while 148 were busted. On April 23, 249 arms licenses of criminals seized by the police department were cancelled, banning 36,978 persons under the CrPC as a preventive measure. Additionally, 105 unlicensed weapons and 171 cartridges were seized.Police raided 96 illegal arms manufacturing centers.
