Kota (Rajasthan), stickers with messages on gas cylinders and paper cups to vote are among the innovative methods adopted by the authorities in Bundi district of Rajasthan to increase electoral awareness and voting percentage for the Lok Sabha elections.

The district includes Kota parliamentary constituency and a part of Bhilwara constituency, both of which will go to polls in the second phase on April 26.

Bundi District Collector Akshay Godara on Monday said that around 1 lakh paper cups carrying messages on voter awareness are being distributed free of cost to tea stall vendors as it can become a topic of conversation for people at these shops.

Apart from messages on paper cups and LPG cylinders, the Bundy administration has adopted several other measures to increase awareness under the Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), the official said.

He said officials are organizing awareness rallies, public meetings where people are encouraged to take oath to vote.Colorful rangolis written with voter awareness slogans have also been made by artists at many places in the district.

Besides this, sweep teams are also visiting public places and markets, urging people to exercise their constitutional right to cast their votes.

DC Godara said there was a huge difference in the voting percentage recorded in Bundi with 66 per cent voting in the last parliamentary elections and an increase of 77.6 per cent in the state assembly elections.

Godara said that with an aim to achieve similar voting percentage this time, intensive measures and activities are being undertaken to reach every voter's doorstep in the district, urge them to cast their vote and sign the declaration form for voting. Are.

Meanwhile, district sweep icon Sunil Jangid, who is an artist, is spreading awareness for 'right to vote' through a special cartoon series on social media platforms.Jangid said, the aim of these cartoon series is to encourage people to celebrate the festival of democracy in the same way they celebrate Eid and New Year.
