Stalin said the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) for elections had come in the way of celebrating the centenary of M. Karunanidhi. Nevertheless, the election-related work done by party workers was a tribute to his memory.
"Nobody can deny his contribution. He upheld federalism and state autonomy," the Chief Minister said.
DMK president Stalin also said the party is synonymous with social justice, communal harmony, rights of the common people and pioneering schemes to save Tamils from the onslaught of the "language of the oppressors".
Taking a dig at the opposition, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister said, "We can hear them lamenting the prospect of the Indian camp creating a 'New India'."
