New Delhi: Congress Delhi chief Arvinder Singh Lovely on Monday introduced the party's three candidates for the Lok Sabha elections and claimed that he will register a historic victory in the national capital.

Congress has fielded Jai Prakash Agarwal from Chandni Chowk, Udit Raj from North West Delhi and Kanhaiya Kumar from North East Delhi.

Lovely said Aggarwal is not only a former MP from Chandni Chowk, who has served in both houses of Parliament, but is also a former municipal councilor, deputy mayor and president of Congress in Delhi.

He said, Raj, former MP from North West Delhi, is also a prominent Dalit leader, who has done commendable work in the upliftment of the underprivileged and development of the constituency.

Raj won the 2014 Lok Sabha election from North West Delhi on a BJP ticket.Kumar is a dynamic young scholar of Jawaharlal Nehru University and has also served as the president of the student union, Lovely said.

He said that all three candidates will register a historic victory in the elections.

Congress is contesting the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi in alliance with AAP. As part of their seat-sharing arrangement, the Congress is contesting on three seats, while the AAP has fielded candidates from four constituencies in the national capital.

During a press conference, Agarwal said that he is not only a voter of this constituency, but he has also played a major role in its development and is familiar with every corner of the area."Chandni Chowk is the heart of Delhi. I have a very close relationship with the people of this constituency. When the Congress-led UPA (United Progressive Alliance) government was in power at the Centre, I asked more than 1,000 questions in the House. Aggarwal said, “My job will be to raise the voice of the people of my area from the first day in Parliament and fight vigorously for it.,

Raj said he ensured all-round development of the North West Delhi constituency during his tenure as MP.

“I was not an MP from 2019 to 2024, but I worked in the constituency as an MP and kept visiting the field,” Raj said. He said that they have adopted four modern villages for special development and have changed the face of Narela.

Kumar, candidate from North East Delhi, said, "We have a positive agenda for this election. Congress will implement schemes like MNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) in all seven constituencies of Delhi to provide employment to the youth. .,

Voting on seven Lok Sabha seats of Delhi will be held in the sixth phase on May 25.
