New Delhi [India], Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal has issued a checklist for candidates contesting Lok Sabha elections and counting agents to check whether electronic voting machines have been tampered with. Addressing a press conference, Sibal gave information about some parameters that counting agents and political parties should keep in mind. "You all know that the voting results will come on June 4. I want to make the public and political parties aware about what you should do when the machines (EVMs) open. So I have made a chart for all the parties and in this chart All counting agents, CU (Control Unit) number, BU (Ballot Unit number) and VVPAT ID will be present. The third column is very important. In the third column it is written 4th June 2024 and when is the time. The machine will open, it is written below. If there is any difference in this time then you will know that the machine has already opened somewhere. And the counting agents and political parties have to tally it.'' Press the Result button till the verification in the above column and if there is a difference between that time and the result time then there is something wrong.I would like that all the political parties and all the candidates sitting there should first carefully examine the column and only then open it.'' The Supreme Court on Friday refused to give any direction on a petition seeking uploading of Form 17C. Following the publication of booth-wise voter turnout data on the website of the Election Commission of India, a bench of Justices Dipankar Datta and Satish Chandra Sharma refused to grant any interim relief to the petitioners and said it cannot disrupt the polling. Of the seven phases of elections, five phases have ended, and the sixth phase is scheduled for Saturday. There is a need for a "hands-off" approach in the middle of the election process, the top court said while adjourning the application.Six phases of elections have been completed. The last phase of voting will take place on June 1. Counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections will take place on June 4.
