South Tripura (Tripura) [India], Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday held two road shows in support of Biplab Kumar Deb, the BJP candidate from West Tripura Lok Sabha constituency. The first road show was held in Belonia, while the second was held in Gomti, both located in South Tripura district.

BJP has fielded Biplab Kumar Deb against Congress's Ashish Kumar Saha from West Tripura Lok Sabha constituency. Kriti Singh Debbarman will face the election contest from Indian Alliance candidate Rajendra Reang in East Tripura. Voting for the Lok Sabha in Tripura is to be held in two phases. West Tripura seat will go to polls on April 19, while East Tripura will go to polls on April 26. Counting of votes will take place on June 4. Whereas BJP has brought a significant change in the political scenario of Tripura by winning both the seats. 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the upcoming elections present an important opportunity for the CPI(M) and the India alliance to regain their stronghold. The CPI(M) had won both seats in the state with a landslide victory in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. The upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Tripura are going to be an exciting event as the Indian alliance is set to challenge the ruling BJP.
