Mumbai, Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday announced the name of Dr. Heman Savra for Palghar Lok Sabha seat.

Simultaneously, the BJP, which is contesting the Lok Sabha elections in alliance with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party, has announced candidates for all the seats it is contesting in Maharashtra. Will fight.

Savra is the son of former BJP tribal development minister Vishnu Savra who died in 2020.

Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) has fielded Bharti Kamdi from Palghar.

Sitting MP Rajendra Gavit, part of the Shinde-led Shiv Sena, has been ousted Gavit, who was with the Congress until the death of sitting MP Chintaman Vanaga in 2018, joined the BJP and won the by-election.

During the 2019 general election, to ease the strained relations between the BJP and Shiv Sena, the BJP ceded the Palghar Lok Sabha seat to the Sena, which re-nominated Gavit.

After Shinde's rebellion in June 2023, Gavit sided with Shinde and there was a split in Shisena.

Of the 48 Lok Sabha seats in the state, the BJP will contest 28, five more than it contested in the 2019 general elections, Shiv Sena 15, NCP four, while one seat has been given to NDA ally Rashtriya Samaj Paksha.

MVA has already announced all its candidates. Shiv Sena (UBT) is contesting on 21 seats, followed by Congress on 17 seats and NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) on 10 seats.
