CHANDIGARH: Around 60 drones have been either shot down or recovered by the BSF along the India-Pakistan border during the two-and-a-half months of Model Code of Conduct in force for the ongoing general elections, according to official data. ,

The Border Security Force (BSF) on Friday said it has recovered two China-made drones along with drugs (methamphetamine) from the border areas of Punjab's Tarn Taran district.

It said the unmanned aerial vehicles were recovered separately from fields in CB Chand and Kalsiyan villages of the district on Thursday.

Voting is being held on 13 Lok Sabha seats of Punjab on Saturday.

Around 60 drones have been recovered or brought down by BSF personnel since the Model Code of Conduct came into force on March 16, a senior officer said.

He said that the largest number of these flying objects coming from Pakistan were recovered from the Punjab border, while some were intercepted from the Rajasthani side of this border.

The India–Pakistan border passes through Jammu, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat in the western part of India. The Punjab region shares a 553 km long front with Pakistan.
