The BJP's attack targeted Kejriwal on two fronts: the "liquor" issue related to excise policy and the "Sheeshmahal" issue related to the renovation of the chief minister's residence.

BJP launched "Sharab Se Sheesh Mahal" campaign from Connaught Place in the national capital.

Senior leaders of Delhi BJP, led by state president Virendra Sachdeva, along with the party's Lok Sabha election candidates, MLAs and councilors joined the protest directly targeting Kejriwal.

The atmosphere echoed with slogans condemning Kejriwal's alleged involvement in corruption and scams during his tenure heading the AAP-led Delhi government.

A large scale replica of the Chief Minister's official residence was installed outside the main entrance of Palika Market in Connaught Place. In this model, small liquor bottles decorated with pictures of Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh were shown.Throughout the day, BJP workers handed out leaflets denouncing corruption to passengers exiting metro stations.

“Today there is a government in Delhi which is embroiled in internal strife, a liquor scandal happened, the entire party knows, but no one is accepting; Instead, they are hiding their mistakes and now blaming each other," the Delhi BJP chief said, adding that it would have been better if Kejriwal's party had collectively repented for corruption today instead of resorting to a mass fast. .

Shazia Ilmi said that the fast observed by Aam Aadmi Party today is only to save the corrupt people.

“Today, I feel ashamed that we stood with such people when their foundation was being laid. We left him, but today I am surprised that Kejriwal is completely immersed in corruption. He spent Rs 52 crore on his palace in the name of the common man but did nothing for the people of Delhi. Whenever we think of the COVID-19 pandemic, it sends a shiver down our spine. How could Kejriwal sleep peacefully in his palace at that time?” Ilmi said.

BJP's Lok Sabha candidate from West Delhi, Kamaljit Sehrawat said that water did not reach every house in Delhi, but liquor shops were opened in every street.

He said, “Everyone is surprised to see Arvind Kejriwal's palace and it is beyond the understanding of common people that how the person who could not provide medicines and beds during Covid became the owner of Sheeshmahal palace worth crores.”
