The bench of Justice Neena Bansal Krishna has asked the central agency to file its reply in this matter by July 17.

CM Kejriwal, who is currently in 14-day judicial custody (till July 12) in a corruption case, questioned the legality of his arrest by the CBI and the agency's subsequent detention.

On June 26, Kejriwal was formally arrested by the CBI when he was produced at the Rouse Avenue Court. Following this, he was sent to three days' CBI custody for questioning.

Last week, CBI was given permission to produce CM Kejriwal in the special court after his interrogation by the central agency in Tihar jail.

Recently, the Delhi High Court stayed the trial court's order granting bail to Kejriwal in the money laundering case, saying the trial court did not appreciate the documents and arguments.

The Supreme Court had in May reserved its verdict on a plea filed by CM Kejriwal challenging his arrest and subsequent remand by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the excise policy case. However, the apex court had ordered his release on 21-day interim bail in view of the general elections.
