Balrampur (UP): A lineman died and a colleague suffered serious burn injuries due to electrocution while repairing wires on an electric pole in a village here on Monday. The officers provided this information.
Circle officer (CO) Pramod Kumar said Afzal (26) and his colleague Devendra Kumar Yadav (30) were climbing an electric pole to repair the line when the power supply suddenly stopped.
Kumar said Afzal fell from the pillar after being electrocuted and was taken to the Community Health Centre, where doctors declared him brought dead. Devendra was seriously injured and his condition remains critical.
Kumar said, the matter is under investigation.
