"Jamie (Lee Curtis) and I have stayed in touch over the years," he said on Nightline, reports deadline.com.

“You know what they say when you have a best friend or someone you're very close to? If you don't see them for years and years, but when you see them again, it's as if you were never apart.

Lohan said: “I think really, for me, it was when I went to the Disney lot. And coming back to the Disney lot because it's just not 'Freaky Friday' for me. He's 'The Parent Trap', he's 'Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen', he's 'Herbie'.

“It's a lot of moments for me. So when I got there, I felt like a little kid again," Lohan said.

“I am so grateful for every moment of it. Every second... I'm getting emotional. It is a wonderful experience.”

Lohan starred as Anna in the 1976 remake of the Disney classic, with Curtis playing Tess Coleman's mother. When a feuding mother and daughter break an enchanted fortune cookie, they experience a day in each other's lives.

Lohan and Curtis began filming early last month with a photo in front of their dressing room trailers.

"We're back!" As soon as Disney made the announcement, it captioned a behind-the-scenes clip: “Coleman is back and coming to theaters in 2025! A sequel to Freaky Friday is now in production!”

Directed by Nisha Ganatra, the sequel will see Anna grow up with a daughter of her own, while also preparing to give birth to a stepdaughter with her new marriage.

Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Manny Jacinto have joined the cast of the sequel.
