Latur: Innovative polling stations showcasing famous aspects of Latur, including its education patterns and dog breeds, will be set up for the Lok Sabha elections, the district official said on Friday.

He said that a booth related to education pattern would come up at Jaykranti College, while a booth at Vadwal Nagnath in Chakur tehsil would give information about Sanjeevan bet and its environmental importance due to the presence of a large number of herbs.

"At the polling stations of Janwa village, there will be information about Pashmi and Karva (Mudhol) breed of dogs, which are reared here. At the polling stations of Ausa and Udagi, there will be boards about the forts there etc. Apart from this, information about Forts will also be there, there will also be at least one eco-friendly booth on each assembly seat,” the official said.

He said, this is the brainchild of Collector Varsha Thakur-Ghuge.
