Kumaraswamy visited the NMDC head office in Hyderabad along with Union Minister of State (MoS) for Steel and Heavy Industries Bhupathiraju Srinivas Varma.

NMDC on Friday said ministers held a meeting with CMD (additional charge) Amitav Mukherjee; Functional directors and senior officials of the company will review the performance, future roadmap, social initiatives and challenges of NMDC and NSL.

The review meeting included discussion on projects in the pipeline that can set a direction for a future driven by excellence, innovation and sustainability. Appreciating the legacy of NMDC, Kumaraswamy expressed his confidence in the company's journey to become a 'Maharatna'.

Addressing the NMDC employees, Minister of State Verma said that the Steel Ministry is promoting the efforts of steel PSEs to increase production and profits.

“Envisioning a strong industrial ecosystem, he said, NMDC will play a decisive role in the upliftment of small units of the iron and steel industry while meeting the demands of key players in the sector.

“NMDC remains steadfast in its commitment to emerge as a global environment friendly mining company with a positive emphasis on social development. We are moving towards a future where Indian mining will be synonymous with progress, innovation and responsibility,” said Amitav Mukherjee.
