Kolkata: The Special Task Force and Detective Department of Kolkata Police has arrested a man from Mumbai for allegedly conducting recce around the residence and offices of Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee, an official said on Monday.
The official said that a person named Rajaram Rege tried to call TMC Diamond Harbor M and his PA after getting his number.
The IPS officer claimed that Rege had earlier met Mumbai terror attack key accused Davy Headley, among others.
"Today our sleuths arrested Rajaram Rege from Mumbai. He had gone to Kolkata and stayed here and conducted a recce of TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee's offices and residences. They obtained the mobile phone numbers of Banerjee and her PA," the official said. And tried to contact them." Said.
