Tel Aviv [Israel], Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that a kilometer-long terrorist tunnel was destroyed and about 100 terrorists were killed. Additionally, more than 100 terrorist structures were destroyed by the IDF's 99th Infantry Division in the central Gaza Strip.
These included weapons storage facilities, observation posts, rocket launch pits and underground tunnels.
The 99th Division is the only reserve division active in the Gaza Strip and has been fighting in the area of central Gaza for the past few months.
The terrorist tunnel was destroyed with the support of Yahalom (Diamond) Special Forces Engineering Unit.
The tunnel consisted of branches that were used by terrorists to move between different locations underground. Additionally, troops took action against a dangerous mosque which was used as a hideout for terrorists in the area. Secondary explosions were detected after the attack, indicating the presence of a large quantity of weapons at the site.
