The automaker said it shipped 2,304 units from India to overseas markets in the month, taking Kia's production figure to 21,804 units.

With this, the company crossed the figure of 2.5 lakh exports to more than 10 countries, a statement said.

The Seltos contributed the majority, with nearly 60 percent of exports from India being accounted for by the model. The Sonet and Carens followed the Seltos with 34 percent and 7 percent respectively in overseas dispatches.

Hardeep Singh Brar, SVP and Head Sales and Marketing, Kia India, said, “With a strong network expansion strategy, we will continue to grow in the remaining year and will soon cross the 1 million domestic sales mark.”

Launched in January 2024, the new Sonet emerged as the best-selling model for Kia India in May with 7,433 units, followed by the Seltos and Carens with 6,736 and 5,316 units respectively.

"So far this year, we have been aggressive in introducing new competitive variants of our models, which has contributed significantly to our sales," Brar said.

The company has sold over 9.8 lakh units in the domestic market, with the Seltos contributing nearly 50 percent of the total.

Kia India began mass production in August 2019 and has an installed annual production capacity of 300,000 units.
