Kharge said that 2-3 years ago, BJP leaders used to say that Congress was not competing with them.“Then why are you abusing Congress? It means you are scared. Only such people use this kind of language.
“It seems that Modi ji likes the M word. He always talks about Mughals, Mutton Muslim League and Mangalsutra.
He strongly objected to the Prime Minister's comment that if Congress came to power, it would snatch away the mangalsutra from women and alleged that he was speaking such language to create unrest and divide the society.
“No one can dare to snatch the mangalsutra. Only a person like Modi can do this, Kharge remarked.
On PM's recent comment that Rahul Gandhi and Congress have stopped talking about Adani and Ambani because money is being delivered to them in tempo, Kharge asked him whether he would ask the ED to conduct raids and seize the money. Why are CBI and IT not being used?He claimed that the Congress fulfilled five out of six guarantees given in the Assembly elections and said that one could not be implemented due to the Model Code of Conduct being in place for the Lok Sabha elections.
"Whatever promises we made, be it in Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh or Telangana, we have fulfilled them," he said.
He reiterated that if the India Bloc comes to power, it will implement the Pehla Job Pakdi scheme for the youth and fill 30 lakh vacancies in government departments.
He said that under the Mahalakshmi scheme, Rs 1 lakh will be given every year to the female heads of poor families. Women will be given 50 percent reservation in government jobs.
He said the government will also strengthen laws related to the unorganized sector and gig workers.The legal guarantee of MSP will provide justice to the farmers.
The Congress chief said the caste census will be conducted to know the facts about the status of different communities in various sectors like health, education, jobs and business opportunities.
He said that to do justice to all, the 50 percent limit on reservation will be removed.
When asked about Mani Shankar Aiyar's alleged statement about Pakistan being a nuclear power and his suggestion for talks with that country, Kharge said that India is 10 times stronger than Pakistan. He mentioned that it was Indira Gandhi who divided Pakistan into two and it was during her reign that India conducted the first nuclear test.When asked about the political developments in Haryana, he said that the MLAs will take a decision on whether to form the government or demand Governor's rule.
