Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu visited the Nyukmadung war memorial near Dirang in West Kameng district and paid floral tributes to the 1962 war heroes.

He laid floral wreath in honor of the martyrs of the India-China war on Sunday.

"Visited the Nyukmadung War Memorial to pay tribute to the brave heroes of the 1962 war. Their bravery and sacrifice will continue to inspire us all," Khandu posted on Instagram.

The Chief Minister also inspected the ongoing construction of the Cultural and Heritage Museum at the memorial site, which is a collaborative effort between the 16th Madras Regiment, 46th Infantry Brigade and the Indian Institute of Heritage (IIH).

Khandu said, "The museum will not only narrate the events and bravery of the 1962 war but will also display local cultural and historical artefacts. I have suggested that the collection should include objects from all the tribes of Arunachal which are truly unique to our state." Reflecting diverse heritage." ,

Additionally, the museum can highlight the contributions of the brave local heroes who aided the army during the 1962 war, ensuring that their stories are preserved and honoured, the Chief Minister said.

He complimented the 16th Madras Regiment, 46th Infantry Brigade and IIH based at Neukmadung for the commendable initiative.

"Today, I proudly join my voice with the brave soldiers of the Madras Regiment shouting their famous battle cry: 'Veer Madrasi, Adi Kollu, Adi Kollu, Adi Kollu!' Salute to his bravery, sacrifice and dedication towards our nation. Jai Hind!'' Khandu said while sharing a video clip in another post.
