Thrissur (Kerala) [India], A 37-year-old woman from Malappuram district gave birth to a baby girl in a KSRTC bus in Thrissur, Kerala. The incident occurred on Wednesday when the woman was traveling from Thrissur to Thottilpalam with her husband. In Kozhikode, as the bus passed Peramangalam village, she started having severe labor pains. Responding to the situation, the bus driver immediately changed the route and drove straight towards Amala Hospital in Thrissur, and informed the hospital about the emergency. Upon reaching the hospital, the woman was already in the final stages of labour, the passengers were disembarked to allow doctors and nurses to provide immediate medical attention. Visuals shared on social media showed the bus stopped at the hospital, with staff members running to the aid of the mother and her newborn baby inside the vehicle. The medical team brought necessary equipment on the bus to ensure a safe delivery. Dr. Yasir Suleman of Amla Hospital said, "Labor pain had already started. At that time, it was impossible for us to shift her to the emergency department. We had to take the baby out and cut the umbilical cord right there. We Made sure baby and mom were safe. It was a different day and a new thing for us.
After the successful delivery, the mother and her baby girl were shifted to the hospital for further care. Hospital officials have confirmed that the bot mother and baby are in good health and are not facing any complications.
