Alappuzha (Kerala), At a time when the state government boasts of remarkable standards of its education system, Kerala Fisheries Minister Saji Cherian has made critical remarks about it and said that many students passing the SSLC examination have Have no writing or writing skills. Read carefully.

He said earlier it was difficult to achieve the minimum passing mark of 210 but now everyone is passing the exam.

“But, a large percentage of them do not know how to read or write properly,” he said at an event here on Saturday.

If someone fails in the exam, it will be portrayed as a failure of the state government, the minister said, adding that it was good for the government to be liberal in the evaluation of SSLC exams.

But current General Education Minister V Sivankutty, who had already made it clear that this practice was not right, is expected to bring about a change in it, Cherian said.

A pass percentage of 99.69 per cent was recorded in the Class 10 Secondary School Leaving Certificate examinations in Kerala for the academic year 2023-24 when the results were declared last month.

A total of 4,25,563 students passed the exam, taking the overall pass percentage to 99.69 per cent, officials said.
