An alleged nexus between police officials and gangsters in Thiruvananthapuram, revealed by the suspension of some policemen at a party organized by a notorious criminal, on Tuesday prompted the opposition Congress to attack the government in Kerala by "failing" its home department. Inspired to attack.

Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly V D Sathesan alleged that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had no control over the Home Department or the police and both were being controlled by the CPI(M) and a 'coterie' in the CM office.

He further alleged that the Left was giving "political protection" to criminal elements in the state.

"The party is behind everything. It is protecting and controlling the gangsters criminals and drug mafia in the state. The CM is acting as a spectator. The police run under the SPS CPI(M) district committees and shos area committees. Are under.

"The home department is a complete failure. People are being attacked in their homes in the state," alleged Sathesan.

He further alleged that as a result, "gangsters, criminals and drug mafias are running rampant in the state".

Satheesan's allegations come after the Crime Branch DSP was suspended for violating discipline and tarnishing the image of the police and the state government by spending hours at the house of a notorious gangster.

According to the police, the officer - DSP MG Sabu - and three other policemen had allegedly attended a party at the residence of notorious gangster Thammanam Faisal at Angamaly in Ernakulam district on May 26.

Sathesan said that Kerala Police was once better known as Scotland Yard.

"It (Kerala Police) is still capable. But, it has been weakened and the trust has been broken," he claimed.
