Former Union Minister Prakash Javadekar, who reached the popular actor's residence here in the state capital, told the media that Prime Minister Modi has changed the politics of Kerala forever.

“For 75 years, Kerala saw bi-polar politics, but PM Modi has changed it forever. We will win in Thrissur and Thiruvananthapuram,” said a confident Javadekar.

In Thiruvananthapuram, BJP's Rajiv Chandrasekhar has increased his lead against sitting Congress MP Shashi Tharoor to over 23,000 votes, raising hopes of a second seat for the BJP in Kerala.

Also in Attingal, BJP candidate and Union Minister V. Muraleedharan is giving a tough fight to Congress's Adoor Prakash and CPI-M's V. Joy and is trailing by over 6,000 votes.

The biggest surprise in Thrissur is that Congress MP K. Muralitharan is at third place after Gopi and Sunilkumar. Muraleedharan was elected Congress MP from Vadakara in 2019, but was transferred to Thrissur ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Muraleedharan's sister and former Congress leader Padmaja Venugopal joined the BJP ahead of the elections and campaigned extensively against her brother.
