New Delhi: BJP candidate from New Delhi Lok Sabha seat Bansuri Swaraj on Friday claimed that Chief Minister Kejriwal's arrest will have no impact on the elections as the "Vastushastra" of the city is in her party's favor and Kamal will also win. Let the lotus bloom in the 2025 assembly elections.

Speaking to editors at the agency's headquarters, Swaraj, daughter of late Delhi chief minister and former external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj, also accused Kejriwal of "saving" the situation to gain sympathy ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

The Delhi Chief Minister is lodged in Tihar jail in a money laundering case related to the alleged excise scam. He was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21.

Swaraj said, "You will see in 2025 that lotus will bloom in Delhi. The only impact (of Kejriwal's arrest on the elections) will be - this time it will cross 400, Modi government once again."

AAP has accused BJP of trying to end it before the Lok Sabha elections. Citing the recent order of the High Court, Swaraj said that Kejriwal is a very experienced politician.

She claimed that the Chief Minister knew that elections were round the corner, so she created this situation and wanted to be arrested at this very moment to create a false story of sympathy.

Swaraj is making her electoral debut by contesting against Aam Aadmi Party leader Somnath Bharti. The party fielded two-time sitting MP and Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi.

The BJP leader claimed that the saffron party will capture power in the national capital in the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, ending the back-to-back victories of the Kejriwal-led AAP in the last two assembly elections.

In the context of the 2025 assembly elections, she said, "You will see 25 is huge. I am telling you that people in Delhi are very fed up with the corruption of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal...

"On one hand, he (Kejriwal) had sworn to his children that he would never ally with the Congress, but now he has taken a 180 degree U-turn and become an ally of the Congress. This shows that his Children had no value. He alleged that the party was steeped in corruption and it had "eroded the credibility" of the Chief Minister.

AAP and Congress are members of the India Bloc and will contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections together in Delhi with a 4-3 seat arrangement.

The BJP has been out of power in Delhi for more than two decades. The party formed its government in the national capital in 1998 with Sushma Swaraj as chief minister.
