Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], After the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a heatwave alert for Rajasthan, SMS in Jaipur. Medical College Principal and senior cardiologist Dr Deepak Maheshwari shared tips on how to protect yourself from heatwave and rising temperatures. Dr Deepak Maheshwari advised people to avoid leaving home during peak hours, cover body parts and stay hydrated to fight the scorching heat. Speaking to ANI, Dr Deepak Maheshwari said, "So far, cases of minor illness including diarrhoea, fever have been reported. Cramps and exhaustion are coming. Patients with major illnesses are no longer coming. Dr Maheshwari He further said, "Do not go in direct sunlight, if absolutely necessary, cover your head or body and go out of the house and keep a water bottle with you." You should keep consuming substances like lemon water, buttermilk and electrolytes, so that the body gets enough fluids. There should be no shortage of water. Advising the elderly and children, Dr. Maheshwari said, "Children and elderly people should take care of their health. Amid the ongoing intense heat wave conditions in Rajasthan, Phalodi in West Rajasthan recorded a maximum temperature of 51 degrees Celsius on Sunday.The India Meteorological Department has issued an alert due to severe heat wave conditions, and has predicted that it will continue to affect the region. Senior scientist of IMD, Naresh Kumar said, "The maximum temperature in Phalodi in western Rajasthan was 51 degrees. It will remain the same in Rajasthan for the next 3-4 days and we have issued a red alert. The temperature will gradually decrease. In Haryana also we have issued a red alert...For Punjab, it is orange alert for 2 days and then according to the IMD, a red alert has been issued on Saturday. Jaisalmer recorded 48.0 degrees Celsius, Bikaner 47.2 degrees Celsius, Churu 47.0 degrees Celsius, Jodhpur 46 degrees Celsius, Ganganagar 46.5 degrees Celsius, Kota 46.3 degrees Celsius, Jaipur 43.8 degrees Celsius, at 1730 IST on Saturday. According to the recorded observations, the maximum temperature has been recorded as scorching heat at most places in Chhotapur, Bikaner and Kota divisions. Hot nights were recorded at most places in Choipur division and some places in Udaipur and Bikaner. Also, the IMD issued a heatwave alert for Rajasthan on its official X handle and said, "Heatwave to severe heatwave conditions are likely over many parts of the West."On May 29, heat wave is likely to prevail in parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, East Rajasthan, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Western Madhya Pradesh and isolated parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha.
