The order was issued by Mandya SP Mallikarjun Baladandi and in his place the police department has appointed G.R. Shivamurthy is currently working as Dy SP at Mandya CEN Police Station. The department had diverted Nagamangala city police station inspector Ashok Kumar in connection with the incident.

On Thursday afternoon, Union Steel and Heavy Industries Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy visited Bidarakoppalu in Nagamangala town and consoled parents who were worried about their children following the Ganesh idol dispute, offering them peace of mind.

He stated that “peace has been restored in the riot-affected Nagamangala city. Therefore, no arrests should be made,” Kumaraswamy said.

Kumaraswamy also spoke over phone to IGP M.B. Boralingaiah, saying, "The previous atmosphere in the city has returned and peace is being established. Arresting anyone in such a situation could reignite the unrest. Therefore, it is advised to exercise caution and not arrest anyone."

Furthermore, efforts are being made to release the innocent people who were imprisoned without having committed any crime, he said.

He also stressed the importance of peace, stating that division benefits no one. He mentioned that he had noticed in media reports the women of this town crying in front of the jail, and that was why he returned to the town.

The Union Minister also provided financial assistance to more than 17 villagers.

Commenting on the FIR lodged against opposition leader R. Ashoka and Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje, Kumaraswamy said, "If you look at the FIR, it is clear that the intelligence department has failed. They claim that the posts were made to inciting riots, but reading the FIR just makes you laugh.

“If the Home Secretary had been more cautious, this would not have happened. The peace of the people is more important than politics. The police should not arrest innocent people or harass those who have fled. No one should exploit this incident politically. "I'm not here to look for sympathy," he said.
