Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) [India], The Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL) is set to begin its inaugural season with the Kashi Kings representing the ancient city of Varanasi. Kashi Rajas aims to incorporate the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Varanasi, also known as Kashi, into the exciting game of Kabaddi.

The first season of the UP Kabaddi League will be held at the Noida Indoor Stadium from July 11, 2024. A total of eight teams will compete for the championship title, which include Yamuna Warriors, Noida Ninjas, Kashi Kings, Awadh Ramdoot, Bridge. Stars, Sangam Challengers, Ayodhya Warriors, and Ganga Kings of Mirzapur.Each team will have 15 players, culminating in a dynamic league of 120 participants drawn from different regions of Uttar Pradesh and across India.

The UPKL mega auction is scheduled to be held on June 10 at Sarovar Hotel, Noida. Around 350 to 400 players will be auctioned, promising an exciting selection process as teams compete for top talent to strengthen their rosters.

Apart from the matches, the “UPKL Trophy Tour 2024” is set to enthrall the spectators across the state. The coveted UPKL trophy will be showcased across over 20 major cities of Uttar Pradesh over a period of 20-25 days, bringing the excitement of the league closer to the fans and driving a deeper connection with the game.Kulwant Baliyan, owner of Kashi Kings, expressed his excitement for the upcoming season. “Kashi Kings is more than just a team; we represent the indomitable spirit of Varanasi.
